Welcome to my Website!
Hello - my name is Gareth James. I am 13 years old and I collect old bottles. My Dad and I have been collecting for about nine months now though we have only found one dump to dig. Most of the bottles in my collection have come from flea markets, car boot sales and ebay. We now have over 100 Sussex Ginger Beer Bottles plus a number of Codds, Hamiltons and beer bottles from Sussex.
Although there are lots of different bottles to collect, most collectors (including myself) are interested in stoneware ginger beers. Ginger beer became popular fairly early in the 19th century and stoneware bottles were used from the 1840's onwards up to 1948. There are two main types of ginger beer bottles - IMPRESSED and TRANSFER PRINTED though these come in a number of different shapes and sizes.
This website shows some of the nicer bottles in my collection. If you have any questions about my bottles please send them to me via my Dad's email address:

Probably the best place on the web for information about Sussex bottles is Steve Homewoods excellent Brighton Bottles website. Check it out for some great photographs of Sussex bottles.
